The Open Network Foundation (TON Foundation), a nonprofit Swiss organization dedicated to expanding a Web3 ecosystem within Telegram, has today announced a partnership with Blockchain.com, one of the most well-known and reputable marketplaces in the world for individuals and businesses to purchase, sell, and exchange cryptocurrencies.
By working together, Blockchain.com and TON Foundation will increase the number of monthly active Telegram users with cryptocurrency access. For current Wallet users outside of the US, TON Space—the TON-based self-custody cryptocurrency wallet created by the Wallet team—was made available in the Telegram settings menu in September 2023.
All Telegram users outside the United States will have default access to TON Space in the Telegram menu starting in November 2023. Except for American users, all current and prospective Telegram users will be able to access their wallets straight from the Telegram menu, providing a seamless experience for purchasing, selling, and trading cryptocurrencies.
Additionally, Toncoin will be accessible with GBP, USD, and EUR transaction pairings via Blockchain.com’s 90 million wallets worldwide, making onboarding and off-ramping simple. The initiative includes a time-limited incentive campaign for Blockchain.com users to earn an additional $5 of Toncoin when they purchase $20 of Toncoin on the platform to reaffirm their shared commitment to offering users best-in-class value.
In addition, and concurrent with this incentive scheme, on October 31, 2023, the TON Foundation will try to break the record for the fastest blockchain globally.
